Why join Sig Ep?

Here are a few reason why some men have joined Sigma Phi Epsilon:

  • Sigma Phi Epsilon is the nations' largest fraternity, with over 14,000 undergraduates at 260 chapters.  There are more active undergraduate Sig Eps in the U.S. than in any other fraternity.
  • Over the past fifteen years, more men have joined Sigma Phi Epsilon than any other college fraternity.
  • More than 255,000 men have joined SigEp since its founding on November 1, 1901, in Richmond, Virginia.
  • Sigma Phi Epsilon is represented on 100 of the top 125 colleges and universities in the U.S. News & World Report ranking of America’s Best Colleges 2007.
  • Our 260 chapters are on colleges and universities across the nation.  Wherever you travel, you are likely to run into other Sig Eps.
  • The 130 chapters that reported performed 56,583 hours of community service in Fall, 1998.
  • 40% of Sig Ep chapters academically outperform the average student (male or female) on campus.
  • The national Sigma Phi Epsilon Educational Foundation provided over $900,000 to Sigma Phi Epsilon chapters in program support and scholarships in 2001.
  • The list of famous Sigma Phi Epsilon Alumni is lengthy and includes countless professional athletes, renowned business men, and elected officials. Click here to read about some famous Sig Eps!
