We are in a continuing process of building and maintaining a database of information on alumni (as well as undergraduates, friends, and family) of Sigma Phi Epsilon, Oklahoma Beta chapter. Hopefully, this will be a valuable tool for all of us to stay in touch, to provide news about the fraternity, etc. We appreciate your efforts to help!
We have contact information for many of our alumni and others, but it is incomplete and may not be current.
YOU CAN HELP! Below is a form in which you can provide further details for our database - feel free to provide as much or as little as you like, but we at least need your name and email address.
We are evolving the way in which this collected data will be used and made available. UNTIL OTHERWISE ANNOUNCED, we intend to maintain it privately, and NOT make it available to the public. We are taking all reasonably available measures to ensure that privacy of the information is maintained, and we do NOT intend to publish anyone's information until such time as we receive written/electronic authorization from them. If you want to provide that authorization NOW, you can do so as you enter your data, by checking the first box in the form. By doing so, you are AUTHORIZING us to publish the information you provide (the default is NOT to authorize publication; for "non-publish" information, we will ONLY use it for purposes such as those described below).
Here are examples of the current “uses” of the data that we believe will be “safe” and that we do not consider to be "publishing" your information. We solicit from you OTHER ideas for "safe" uses of the database information:
Mass emails (announcements, news items, etc.) to all or some of the members in the database, with their email addresses HIDDEN.
Serving as a contact point – one brother can send a message to the webmaster, asking for the email address of one or a few other brothers. To address the confidentiality concerns mentioned above, the webmaster can respond by either (a) advising that we do not currently HAVE contact information for that brother, or (b) forward the request to the brother who is being sought (this should enable THAT brother to respond to the webmaster and/or to the requesting brother, to indicate whether the brother wants to make his contact information available to the requesting brother).
If you simply need to UPDATE some or all of your information (and you know that you previously entered your information into this database), please update the appropriate field, and simply add a NOTE in the "notes" field so that we can later update and consolidate that information into your earlier record.
We hope that this will help us to find and connect with "lost" brothers, and generally improve our communications with all of our brothers and friends, in both a timely and cost-efficient manner. Thank you again for your help.
